 Klean Industries is looking for positive, self motivated individuals who are interested in a rewarding career in the alternative energy industry and a dynamic place to work. These NON-PAID internship offers hands-on experience in the clean technology and renewable energy work environment and can lead to career opportunities in the #1 growth industry.

Klean Industries Inc is seeking a motivated self-starters for various positions listed below. The Intern's will help get the word out about our innovative Green Technology solutions. This is an ideal situation for a student or recent college graduate seeking to gain valuable hands-on experience in the business world. The Interns will be mentored closely by the CEO and marketing team during the internship.

This opportunity is perfect for those who want a career in the renewable energy and clean-tech sector with opportunity for unlimited growth. These are all unpaid internships - no salary, and are open to students who can intern for a minimum of 8 to 12 weeks. Hours are flexible, 15-20 hours a week, starting immediately.

Graphic Design / Media Development Intern

Klean is looking for creative and motivated undergraduate students who want to build their portfolio and gain hands-on work experience in the Clean-tech sector. The job with require experience in developing social networks like YouTube, LinkedIn, Google, WordPress, Twitter. It will also require the ability to update, creating and modifying websites. Throughout the internship, you will be involved in a variety of challenging high profile projects with fast turn-around deadlines.

As an intern you will work with Klean's executive team on developing media concepts to improve Klean's look. This will include product editorials, brochures, power points, proposals and document packaging from concept through to production. You will also help prepare for trade show events and help prepare CSR reports.

It is imperative the intern have their own computer with Adobe software.
Required Skills:
  • Must have working knowledge of Adobe creative suite.
  • Must be able to operate within Microsoft Office systems.
  • Strong communication and artistic skills.
  • Must be organized and detail oriented.
  • Experience in photography would be a plus.
  • Portfolio required for review.

Videographer Intern

The Videographer Intern will assist in the filming, importing, and editing of raw video to create high quality videos that will be placed on DVD or uploaded to our YouTube channel.

Responsibilities include importing and logging existing raw footage, filming and editing footage and creating and inserting appropriate graphics into the video to create a professional-quality clip. Video intern must be highly skilled with a video camera, and must be proficient in Final Cut Pro. Personal computer with programs is a plus. Must be currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in a related field, such as film, or video editing, etc. Intern should be highly organized, detail-oriented, steady, dependable, driven, and energetic.

Business Development Intern

Spend your summer developing business opportunities for Klean Industries in the US as well as in Canada, the UK, Mexico and Brazil. You will work with the CEO, CFO, CTO, and VP of Business Development and be exposed to Fortune 500 companies, innovative green start-ups, brand managers and recycling strategies. In addition, by the end of your internship you would have been taught how to strategically research on deal opportunities, pitch business ideas, create effective proposals and manage business development databases.

Candidates should be entrepreneurial, self-motivators with the ability to work in a deadline-driven, fast paced environment. Must be a team player, possess excellent written and oral communication skills, have strong inter-personal and organizational skills and most importantly have a hunger for business development. Must be proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Foreign language skills are also desired.

Product and Market Development Intern

If you are technically and/or mechanically inclined this is a great opportunity to develop new products out of waste. In your cover letter you can specify if you would like to be considered for a product & market development internship or a recycling market internship. An engineering, chemistry or polymer background is a plus:
  • As a Product and Market development intern you will learn how to develop profiles for various waste streams, categorize plastics and run test equipment. You will also investigate how to improve properties of particular plastics and composites to meet specific applications
  • As a Recycling Market Research intern you will learn to define and categorize the markets by pre-determined skill set of each recycler as well as prospective licensing partners that will use our technologies, products and solutions.

Market Research Intern

Klean is looking to source various waste streams from various industrial partners and recycling facilities and independent operators around the globe. We are developing new partner programs where we can develop partnerships to establish collection infrastructure for various wastes. One of the goals is to establish new stewardship programs around the globe that generate revenue via collection fees and tipping fees by collecting specific kinds of waste and shipping them to Klean's new processing plants. Some of these sourcing locations are comprised of industrial processing plants, factories and a wide variety of other organizations.

Klean is looking for an MBA candidate (or potentially a motivated college junior or senior) to design and conduct market research for these programs.

Specific Duties:
  • Gather information on existing recycling and fundraising programs
  • Identify potential promotions, programs and partnership
  • Develop recommendations based on findings
  • Assist in implementation of new concepts

Public Relations & Corporate Communications Intern

This is the perfect opportunity to build an actual PR portfolio. You will write your own releases and pitch media. Major duties include:
  • Drafting and distributing high quality, effective press releases and pitches.
  • Pitching by phone Klean's story and technologies and solutions to Broadcast/Print/Online media sources.
  • Marketing Klean's solutions
  • Write copy for public website on our Green Technology solutions.
  • Write case studies about the green technologies we have implemented at our client sites.
  • Draft HTML-based email promotions and other email communications to client base about our Green Technology solutions.

PR and Event Planning:

  • Research and draft conference presentations on green technologies and our solutions.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of a high-profile co-marketing event with one of our clients around the green technologies we implemented for them.
  • Work with technology vendors and distributors regarding co-marketing opportunities at this event.
  • Draft a press release in conjunction with this event.

Requirements:

  • Excellent writing and communication skills.

  • Working towards degree in marketing, public relations, communications or equivalent field.
  • Position reports to Klean's VP, Media Relations in Vancouver.
